This camp will include multiple outdoor activities such as:
swimming, hiking, wildlife
identification,
games and crafts.

In addition to the above activities this camp will also include:
group problem solving, climbing
wall
and low ropes course elements.

BACKPACK
& OVERNIGHT EXPEDITIONS

July 21-July 25 ages 12 to 15

This camp
includes Day Camp activities as well as the following course description.

This course will be an introduction to back country living skills and
expeditionary mentality. Campers will
be introduced to low ropes course initiatives and climbing wall. Wednesday and Thursday will be backpacking
and overnight campouts.

10August 16 ages 16 & Up
$275 per person

This seven day camp
includes some of the Day Camp activities as well as the following course
description.

This course will
include expeditionary planning, back country living skills and group
dynamics. We will spend the first two
days of camp planning our backpacking trip and building group trust through
various low ropes course elements and rock climbing wall activities. We will then spend the next five days (4
nights) hiking in the Shenandoah
National Park. We will explore our local and natural
environment.

All camps are from 9 am to 3 pm, except
for the overnight camp.
The camp leader,
Aron Weisgerber, is a graduate of Hearthstone
School and a graduate of Prescott College
in Arizona.
He has studied Adventure Education and Wilderness Leadership. This is his ninth year of summer
camps. He is WFR
certified and CPR and First Aid certified.
He has Map and Compass Navigational Training, Search and Rescue
Training, Ropes Course Facilitation Training and Recreation Management
Training. Aron has led numerous
extended backpacking expeditions.
